How to Use your Income Tax Refund to Look More Beautiful, Save Time and Get Greatest Value

Permanent makeup expert artist Sally Hayes reveals how women getting income tax refunds now can get the biggest bank for their beauty bucks through permanent eyebrows, permanent eyeliner, and permanent lip makeup procedures.

April 15, 2012  – It’s “found money.” And it’s coming soon. This is how many people view an income tax refund. According to the IRS, over three-quarters of the Americans who file income tax statements this year are expected to receive a refund. The average amount of their refund check from the U.S. Government is more than $3,000. No woman wants to waste it, spend it on something boring, or blow it on something expensive which doesn’t have real value. Some will choose to pay down credit card debt or invest their found money. But many women choose to put it back into themselves and their appearance. Permanent makeup offers the greatest combination of value and benefits in the beauty industry.

“Permanent makeup has grown popular for reasons other than saving time and effort every day,” says permanent makeup expert Sally Hayes. “Most women are shoppers by nature. We love quality especially when it comes to our personal beauty. But we also love a good deal. Permanent makeup is a really good deal because of the added confidence and convenience it delivers for women and how long it lasts.”

After being professionally trained by plastic surgeons, Hayes has performed tens of thousands of permanent makeup procedures over her more than 25-year career doing permanent eyebrows, permanent eyeliner, permanent lip makeup, and cosmetic camouflage. She works primarily out of Permanent Makeup Arizona and Permanent
Makeup New York
locations, but also regularly sees clients in the beauty
meccas of Los Angeles, CA, and Las Vegas, NV.

Permanent makeup has rapidly grown into a multi-million dollar industry following the widespread popularity of traditional body art tattooing. This cosmetic tattooing process also known as permanent cosmetics or micropigmentation is the art of depositing dermatologically tested pigments into the dermis layer of the skin to create the appearance of makeup. Depending on personal factors and preferences, Sally Hayes’ clients can get a couple of years up to more than a decade without a touch-up of their permanent makeup.

“Women today lead busy, active lifestyles and the reality of always being judged on your appearance can be a burden,” said Hayes. “So you have to ask yourself what your time is worth. And when you compare permanent makeup to Botox or dermal fillers for a similar cost, you get enhanced facial beauty which lasts a woman years not a couple of months. Then looking at the cost and frequency of topical makeup, hair salons, manicures, pedicures and so on, permanent makeup saves a woman both time and money. It’s something any woman who cares about her appearance can easily justify with found money from an income tax refund.”

Bad Permanent Lip Makeup Gives Hospital Heart Attack

Have you ever felt like maybe you were having a heart attack? It’s a scary feeling. Many people actually avoid calling for emergency help because they have more fear of the potential embarrassment that it might just be a false alarm. Well, here’s a different twist on this common occurrence.

Yesterday, I had a new client in my permanent makeup Scottsdale, Arizona clinic. Her name is Joanne. She is one of those women you can’t help but like right away. In fact, I liked everything about her…except of course, her lips. But I wasn’t alone in my opinion. Joanne came to see me because she didn’t like her lips either.

But here’s where the plot thickens…

It turns out the staff at a Phoenix, Arizona area hospital didn’t like the look of her lips one bit. Joanne recently had a knee replacement surgery done. In preparing her for the procedure, the hospital staff couldn’t help but notice the unique set of gray colored lips on this strawberry blonde patient. They feared she might be having a heart attack and kept running checks to make sure she was okay.

Joanne told the hospital staff about the bad permanent lip makeup she suffered at the hands of an equally bad permanent makeup artist. This situation was the last straw for this strawberry blonde and she came to me for help.  (And take my word and Joanne’s, in person her lips look worse than in the photo here).

It had been 12 long years she wore this bad permanent makeup, trying to hide it as best she could. This totally defeated the purpose of why she got permanent makeup in the first place. Joanne kept thinking, kept hoping her lips might somehow look better as they faded. But they only turned more gray.

I told her it would surely take multiple applications to get her lips right. She didn’t mind. She told me her husband recently left her for another woman, and said, “I don’t care if it takes 2 years! He’s going to pay for it. And I am finally going to enjoy beautiful looking lips!”

I will do my best to make Joanne smile and love her new permanent lip makeup. As for the permanent makeup artist who messed up Joanne’s lips and gives us professionals a bad name, I’d like to give her a fat lip.

Hare-Raising Permanent Makeup Video Message

Hello Peeps,

What do you get when you cross The Easter Bunny with permanent makeup? You get a unique, “hare-raising, must-see” video on YouTube.

I hope you have a moment to enjoy watching it as part of a wonderful Easter weekend. (By the way, about 1,000 people have already watched the amazing “Permanent Makeup with a Chain Saw” video we posted a few days ago. You might like that one, too).

In doing permanent makeup my cosmetic tattooing only uses pigments with safe, natural ingredients, and it custom blends lighter colors for a perfect match with your skin tone. In dying Easter eggs last night mine were anything but natural-looking and undetectable. I enjoyed the change! Whatever Easter means to you…a celebration of your faith, a gathering of family and friends, or hoping that handsome Peter Cottontail hops into your life, I wish you a very happy holiday.

All the Best,
Sally Hayes

Bad Permanent Makeup Procedures – No April Fool’s Gag Warns Expert

Permanent makeup expert artist Sally Hayes fixes faces of women suffering from shoddy cosmetic tattooing procedures of permanent eyebrows, permanent eyeliner, and permanent lip makeup done by unskilled technicians.

Scottsdale, Arizona. April 1, 2012  – This is no April Fool’s Day joke. It happens every day. The goal is beauty. The results are botched. Imagine women having no way to wash off multi-colored eyebrows with different sizes and shapes, or a look of smeared lipstick 24-7. Cosmetic tattooing traumas taint faces across the U.S. due to bad permanent makeup procedures by poorly trained and unskilled technicians. The victims are unsuspecting women paying hundreds or thousands of dollars for the service while expecting the benefits of this popular solution known for saving time and effort from the drudgery of daily makeup.

“Permanent makeup became popular with active women who care about their appearance because it works,” says permanent makeup expert Sally Hayes. “It is designed to look natural for years, and give a woman added confidence and freedom, not have her trying to hide from people wondering, “What did you do to your face?’

Over a 25-year career following training by plastic surgeons, Hayes has performed tens of thousands of successful procedures of permanent eyebrows, permanent eyeliner, permanent lip makeup, and cosmetic camouflage. Based in the beauty meccas of Scottsdale, AZ, New York, NY, Los Angeles, CA, and Las Vegas, NV, she is fixing permanent makeup mishaps more than ever. “Years ago I had maybe 3 bad fixes a month and thought that was high. Now I easily see 6 women a week begging for help from wearing a nightmare on their face they thought would be a dream come true.”

Following traditional body art tattooing, permanent makeup, has exploded into a multi-million dollar industry. Also known as micropigmentation or permanent cosmetics, it is the art of precisely depositing hypoallergenic pigments into the dermis layer of the skin to create the appearance of makeup. However, inferior technicians are cashing in on the fact that uniform standards of licensing and certification in the industry do not exist, and minimal training requirements vary by state.

Medical professionals who refer to Hayes agree the permanent makeup gone wrong problem is real. “It seems to be a case where the number of highly skilled and experienced permanent makeup artists does not yet meet the demand,”  observes popular Las Vegas, Nevada Cosmetic Surgeon Julio L. Garcia, M.D. ”Unfortunately, the damage can be done by the time the woman realizes all permanent makeup artists are not equal.”

Jody Comstock, M.D of Tucson, Arizona,. a partner in state’s largest dermatology practice believes in the value of permanent makeup but warns is a matter of “Buyer Beware” for now. “To be safe, you must do your homework and only trust your face with a proven permanent makeup professional,” says Comstock. “Search the internet, get referrals from your doctor, or women whose permanent makeup you like. Otherwise you could be facing laser treatments or even surgery to have bad permanent makeup removed.”

Phoenix TV hair stylist Marilyn Banks was such a victim. 4 different artists took her on an emotional roller coaster from wanting permanent eyebrows to hating them to hating them more to finally loving them. “It was painful because I couldn’t hide the problem from others or myself,” says Banks. “Just think how a pimple on your face can ruin your day. Trust me, this was worse.”

Today’s women lead active lifestyles and feel judged on their appearance. Most see wearing makeup as a must in the workforce and their personal lives. So consistently looking good without embarrassing smudges, smears, or run-offs has created millions of  permanent makeup supporters. “Permanent makeup helps women look and feel more confident, beautiful and even more youthful, while saving time and hassle every day,” said Hayes. “I provide a great service with tremendous value. What’s not to like about permanent makeup other than some technicians who have no business doing it?”

Permanent Makeup: 2001 A News Odyssey

Oh the things you find when you dare enter your storage area! Yikes! Mine is like a huge junk drawer on steroids. It’s bigger than many apartments in Manhattan. And I’m not bragging about it. “I’m just sayin…”

Naturally, I went in looking for one thing and came out with my arms full. One of the items I came across was a national news story done back in 2001 titled “Cosmetic Tattoos.” It was the first time I was featured by the Associated Press, and a rare occasion when a non-medical doctor is featured at a Society of Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists conference.

Take a quick trip back in time with me. How could you not notice the photo of me with the blonde hair? I had it for about a week. And I’m doing permanent blush with a miniature mallet. Both of those are now distant memories in my life.

Interestingly the article began with a permanent makeup for men angle telling the story of a nice man I helped who worked as a hair colorist. Christian James, a natural redhead told the Associated Press reporter, Samantha Critchell, that because his facial hair was so light his face was “like a picture without a frame” before I enhanced his appearance with permanent eyebrows and some work on his eyelids.

I cracked up at reading Christian’s quote about the term “permanent makeup” when he said it struck him as a little too effeminate for him. He said, “Women call it cosmetics. I like to think of it as a tattoo.”

The 2001 news story called permanent makeup the latest craze in cosmetology because of vanity reasons and the “get up and go” era we were in. It covered how more doctors were supporting it including quotes from Brian Kenney, M.D., a certified plastic surgeon in Los Angeles who was using it in his practice.

As always, journalists tell both sides of the story. The subtitle for this piece on cosmetic tattoos was: “What’s gained in time may be lost in versatility.” This was the opinion of Kerry Diamond, author and prominent magazine editor who liked how topical makeup allowed you to look different every day and could be cleaned with “the simple wipe of a washcloth.”

And then there’s Lynn Lutzker, a client turned personal friend of mine. Lynn owns the Exclusively Big and Tall men’s clothing store in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was the
victim of bad permanent makeup from someone she described as making her “look
like I was wearing American Indian war paint.”

After our challenging work together, Lynn Lutzker went from a panic-stricken woman to one permanently hooked on permanent makeup. She gave this classic quote to the Associated Press about permanent makeup, “I will do it until the day I die.”

So will I Lynn. So will I.

Viva Permanent Makeup Las Vegas!

 What a thrill!

However, I cannot tell a lie. It was not me who was responsible for making magician David Copperfield disappear from atop Las Vegas. If I don’t share the secret here, it is he who has the bag of tricks which could easily make me disappear as a Las Vegas Permanent Makeup Artist.

I cannot tell a lie. Never in a million years did I ever expect to see Sally Hayes larger than life on the side of the glamorous MGM Grand in Las Vegas. My mom was so proud of me when she saw this!

If you were not in Las Vegas today, you would have missed this spectacular sighting. Even if you were on the legendary Las Vegas Strip today, you too would have missed it. You see, you couldn’t possibly have seen this amazing Permanent Makeup Las Vegas promotion. And there’s only one good reason for this. It’s because it never happened. Oh, but a girl can dream can’t she?

I cannot tell a lie. A creative friend of mine with a twisted sense of humor magically “altered the reality” of this image in Photoshop. I got such a kick out of it I just thought it would be fun to share it here with you.

All kidding aside, my reality was I did actually feel like a Las Vegas headliner today. And it was a great experience. I had so many lovely Las Vegas women come to see me for permanent makeup at Dr. Julio Garcia’s cosmetic surgery practice. It was a busy day with a dozen procedures of permanent eyebrows, permanent eyeliner, and permanent lip makeup, and another handful of complimentary consultations who booked to work with me soon. It was worth missing my flight home to Scottsdale, Arizona tonight to help a women who insisted I did her permanent makeup before she moved to California. I love what I do.

If you’re looking to schedule an appointment with me in Las Vegas, I won’t be back to join you in Sin City until late April. I wonder…does that leave enough time for the MGM Grand to strike a deal with my agent to bump David Copperfield and book me to perform my permanent makeup magic show there? : )

I cannot tell a lie. I don’t even have an agent. And besides, I’m very happy and equally blessed to be on Dr. Garcia’s team.

Peyton Manning Loses Permanent Makeup Offer

Dear Peyton Manning,

I’m sorry but I’m afraid my offer is now off the table. If you’re passing  on the golden opportunity to play quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, I won’t be able to do your lovely wife’s permanent makeup for free. I made the offer to you on Twitter (@permmakeupsally) to sweeten the pot for you to come here to play football and enjoy life with your family in the Valley of the Sun.

Somehow it sounds like she’ll be able to come up with the money to pay for permanent makeup if and when the time comes. So it’ll still be all right.

Keep in mind no matter where you wind up playing football this year, whether it’s for the Tennessee Titans or Denver Broncos, I can still give her a quality complimentary consultation as I do for all my clients.

By the way, if you do consider changing your mind about Arizona please do so before summer rolls around again. You won’t even want to think about wearing a football uniform then. Dry heat or not…115 degrees outside is still 115 degrees.

A Permanent Makeup St. Patrick’s Day to Forget

Oops. I apologize to St. Patrick and all of my Irish friends. I totally forgot to wear any green at all today. Surprisingly, I also didn’t see much green on anyone else this fine St. Patrick’s Day either. I wonder why.

Actually, you’d think I was running some sort of Green Lip Tattoo promotion or something considering how busy I was doing permanent makeup on a St. Patrick’s Day in Scottsdale. Usually I only work half days on Saturdays but not this one.

Perhaps because I was out of town 2 days this week for Permanent Makeup New York appointments, the Luck of the Irish brought me 15 different procedures today and I also did a handful of consultations for women who are coming in soon for permanent eyebrows, permanent eyeliner, and permanent lip makeup.

Despite my feeling rushed, every client was most pleasant today. Maybe they had a green beer or two on the way to get relaxed for their procedures.

Not me, if I do enjoy a taste of St. Patrick’s Day later it’ll probably be an Arizona favorite – a margarita. It’s funny how possibly my favorite place for these in Scottsdale is a Chinese Restaurant…P.F. Chang’s. I also love their green beans appetizer. There, I’ll get my green on today after all.

Here’s wishing you a Safe and Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Cheers!
